Sites and geofences

A geofence is an area on the map: a site, a warehouse, an office or a route.

Create a geofence#

Geofences → Create geofence → choose Route, Polygon or Circle and draw on the map. If you have a KML file from another system, it can be imported.

Map-only geofence#

Without a tracker the geofence records when vehicles with a GPS tracker enter and leave. Workers and tools are only seen while they are in a vehicle.

Geofence with a tracker#

With an IF Wire tracker on the site, the geofence becomes a tracker zone: workers and tools are recorded even after the vans have left. This is what gives automatic attendance and left-behind alerts.

The geofence card and History of use#

Every geofence has a card with company, owner, linked tracker, colour and the materials and objects that belong to it. The History of use table lists every visit with object, start time and end time, so you see how long vehicles, people and tools were on the site.

Entry and exit#

Entries and exits are recorded automatically and can be sent as notifications.

Report#

Reports → Geofences Report shows who and what was in the zone during a period. Pick several geofences for one combined report.
